Pet memorials at your wedding?

Question by *Miss_Autumn*: Pet memorials at your wedding?
I thought I’d heard of everything until I read this on another wedding site. I completely understand that pets are considered family but who seriously would do something of that nature at a wedding? And why? I personally don’t get the concept of memorials at weddings at all, but to each their own. But isn’t memorializing a pet going slightly overboard?

well to some people a pet means just as much as their grandparents, who they would also remember during the wedding. but I think I would downplay it and maybe print it in teh programs as opposed to lighting a candle in memory of my dog or something.

What do you think? Answer below!

I think weddings are blown out of proportion I don’t see why it needs to be such a big event. I know on my wedding day I am going to surprise my fiance by showing up dressed as ELVIS

I’m an animal lover and i have lost many dear pets in my life but I wouldn’t go as far as do a memorial for them. I love my family as well but I wouldn’t do a memorial for a family member either because I feel it is a bit out of place.

To each their own I guess. Some people love their pets more than anything in the world. I’ve seen people use a dog or cat as a ring barer in their wedding before.

The only memorial I had was a empty chair covered in a black fabric with flowers on it for my daddy who died when I was 8.

LOL no way! I’ve never heard that before. If we did a memorial for all the animals that’s kicked the bucket in my past, we would be there for a good hour or two.

Though if you got a puppy when a couple first started getting serious and it died of old age or something, that would be cute to have his picture on a chair or something lol

I adore my pets, I also adored my father and he has passed about 13 years ago.
My wedding will not include memorials to any of them.
