Can I add something that might also help you. The top of the tongue needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. Reasons: to contol bad breath, to stop disease organisms from growing and infecting the digestive systerm (anything that grows in the mouth will eventually get to the stomach) , also the mouth can be a source of infection to the blood stream. Cleaning the tongue will also improve the function of the salivary glands and the taste buds. So, if you have a sore throat you should also clean the tongue because that will help decrease the level of the disease organism. Learn more abouit this at: http://www.orabrush.com

You should still see a doctor. Even though you may not feel the symptoms of strep throat, it could still be affecting other organ systems. The bacteria that causes strep can damage the valves of your heart, causing a heart murmer.

The strep throat may not be completely cleared up or, you might have an abscess on one of your tonsils that is draining some fluid that could give you this taste. It might be a good idea to have someone look in your throat with a flashlight and see if they can see a pus pocket anywhere on either of your tonsils. If there is, you need to see a doctor and get some antibiotics. Untreated strep can settle in the valves of your heart and cause lots of problems and you won't know this has happened until it is too late.
